ただし、これはおどけた調子で言う表現で、日本語でも「部長につかまっちゃってさあ～」などと冗談めかして言う、あの感じ。
【例文】
John: Hey Mike, sorry I can’t make it tonight. I’m being held hostage until I get this report done.
Mike: That’s okay, we’ll catch up some other time.
John: ねぇMike、ごめん、今夜は行けなくなっちゃったよ。この報告書が完成するまで、残業なんだよ。
Mike: しょうがないよ。また今度にしよう。
